There’s so much going on right now! Vivid Sydney Festival is back again gathering tens of thousand of people to crowd favourites such as the lighting of the Sydney Opera House sails and skyscrapers and heritage sites transformed into amazing colourful canvas. As if that was not enough, Vivid also brings inspiring events with creative minds talks and a series of music performances around the city. Getting hungry with so much activity? Got to go to The Rocks Foodies Market and grab your snack where a range of delectable food stalls provide freshly prepared lunch options including barbequed salmon, lamb kebabs, paella and gozleme.

I was going through my photo archives and found this treasure. Six months after moved to Australia I was able to watch a Dalai Lama’s talking about Kindness and Happiness. That day I arrived early to the event venue hopping to find a good spot to photograph His Holiness but found myself at the far left corner of the stage and behind big speakers. His words provoked scope to explore the positive impact of ethical behavior on our fellow human beings and ourselves. After over 300 shots and at the very end of the event he looked to my lens with his hands in prayer. I knew that was the shot that I was waiting for. On his left shoulder we can see a t-shirt of the Sydney Swans Football Club signed by all team players and presented to him that he kept there during the whole speech. That was also a unique moment where I felt my soul embraced by his wisdom and kindness.

Kyudo, which literally means The Way of the Bow, is considered by many to be the purest of all the martial ways. In the past, the Japanese bow was used for hunting, war, court ceremonies, games, and contests of skill. Modern kyudo is practiced primarily as a method of physical, moral, and spiritual development.

In Yamanouchi-Town, Nagano prefecture, you can watch archers practicing Kyudo in sacred atmosphere or take a 3 hours full lesson, where Kazuhisa Miyasaka Sensei, 5th Dan, explains about Japanese archery tools and history. In addition, you can try shooting an indoor target. The outdoor target is for Samurai only.

Ask people to think of a photography and most will think of an iconic image. Perhaps one from the illustrious world of fashion; maybe they will remember a famous face; or there’s a good chance it will be a well-known commercial photography.

But the real question is: which photographs carry the most important messages? What are the images that make you raise questions about the way our planet is governed? Which pictures have the power to change your perception of the world?

The photojournalists are some of the world’s greatest and most unique photographers. It’s through the eyes of their cameras that we can see, smell, hear, touch, think and perhaps reconsider the history of mankind.

The list below showcases 5 unique people who, in my opinion, genuinely merit the description “World’s Top Photographers”.
