Getting to know
A long time ago I saw a book with Alfred Gregory’s pictures of the first expedition to conquer Mount Everest. I was a little boy then but those remarkable images, showing men of courage and the majesty of the world’s greatest wilderness, really moved my heart. So I planned to climb that mountain myself and leave my mark on the world.
Coming from a very simple family, soon I realised that it wouldn’t be that simple. Until today I have climbed other mountains but not Mount Everest yet. And it doesn’t matter. What matter is that today that little boy lives on the other side of the planet, far away from his own hometown. In his quest to leave his mark he had seen so many wonders. And everything started with some photos.
That little boy still dwells in my heart and urges me towards change. So what I really want is to touch people lives with my work as Gregory’s photographs did with me.
Born in Brazil in the early 70s, I am graphic designer and photographer. I studied Advertising, but have been working in graphic design for over 15 years. Taking photographs is a way to unleash my creativity and use my knowledge of design and composition with a different medium. I love to travel. Even walking through the streets of the city I live in, Sydney, I’m always in search of light and stories to share. For me photography is not just a way of expressing my imagination but also a window to the world, where the unspoken can be grasped. A natural step to a deeper exploration of my creativity and to feed my curiosity about the world that surrounds me.
